Scammers trick overseas students out of gold in fake money-laundering probes

Fraudsters have scammed overseas students out of up to HK$1.5 million each by falsely accusing them of money laundering and luring them to Hong Kong to buy gold for fake law-enforcement investigations. At least nine victims, aged 19 to 26, studying in various countries, have reported losses ranging from HK$740,000.
