Hong Kong seeks to seize HK$56.5 million, 17 companies from jailed Jimmy Lai

The Hong Kong government is attempting to confiscate HK$56.5 million from jailed media executive Jimmy Lai's accounts and his shares in 17 companies. This action follows his 20-year sentence under the national security law for conspiring to instigate foreign sanctions and incite public hatred. The High Court has been petitioned to approve this asset seizure.
